Hello everyone, my name is Jayson and I currently live in Newcastle Upon Tyne (UK). Used to read a lot of What Hi-Fi stuff but now much prefer forum based reviews/ arguments. Previous setup B&W 685s, Marantaz PM6002 amp and separate CD player, now downgrade to some second hand Tannoy P40 floor standers, centre and surrounds wired to Denon AVR-2106 multi-channel amp.

I'm a bit of a headphones guy as i tend to live with a lot of other people so mainly on the Head-fi forums, currently NFB-15.32 DAC/amp to Alessandro MS2i cans - file based source, also own HD25 I-II as my "on the go" headphones.

Looking to come on here to gain a bit more knowledge on the whole vinyl scene, my girlfriend is big into vinyl and I'm big into audio so i want to get her a little setup for Christmas to replace her godawful "All in one" china reproduction which sounds terrible!

Look forward to meeting you all :)

Hi Jayson

Welcome to the AoS from another North East resident
There are quite a few of us all based in the area, and I am sure they will popup and introduce them selves shortly.
There is a Bakeoff soon take a look at the link below

Enjoy it here and there will be plenty of help and advice from all, of that I am sure

Hi Andy,

That sounds amazing, always wanted to go to a meet up back could never find any locally. My misses is from Hartlepool so I bring her along! So do i bring cakes or is the bakeoff thing just in terms of audio? I may bring a small headphone rig. ;)

Hi Jayson

No cakes required :).
Just drop by and enjoy the evening.
If you want to contact the guy organising the evening, to see what is involved, take a look at the link and post a question to Floyddroid

Hello and welcome from another North East member.

I'd also recommend the meetups organised by Mr floyddroid, you don't need to have fancy kit to come along and enjoy some tunes with us. Also a nice opportunity to get a handle on the state of the hobby from those who can't maybe save you some of the money and hassle we've already gone to with

Welcome aboard and look forward to hearing how you get on with your vinyl quest, I've recently just sorted my vinyl front end out and if you'd like to know any more about it just ask.

all the best

Rich

Yeh it'll be great to hear some stories of some drastic purchases! :) I googled the windmill and it is a bit out the way of Hartlepool itself, does anyone now if there's a bus service running to it, can't find anything online. Would love to hear peoples setups!
