Time to have another go at moving these on, so here goes...
Jolida Music Envoy 211's - Don't put off by the Chinese origins of these amps, they're actually assembled and extensively tested in the USA and are serious high end amplifiers, they're also properly rated for UK mains voltage. When last available in the UK they commanded a SRRP of £4195.00 *each*! and the chap I bought them from told me he acquired them directly from the distributor (RPM I believe?) and they were one of the last pairs officially available here in the UK.
There's a good description and review here: http://www.tnt-audio.com/ampli/musicenvoy_e.html
Rated Output Power: 200W x 2
Frequency Response: 14Hz to 50KHz + 1db
Distortion THD: 0.5%
S/N Ratio: >84db
Circuit Type: Ultra linear push pull
Input Impedance: 100Kohms
Input Sensitivity: 2.5V
Output Load Impedance: 4 and 8 ohms
Tube Complement: 4 x 211, 4 x EL34, 4 x 12AT7 (per pair)
Power Consumption: 90W standby, 430W maximum
Dimensions (inches): 17(W) x 15.4 (D) x 4.2 (H) per block
When I bought these last year they had an odd compliment of valves with unknown hours on them, since then they've had a complete re-valve and now wear NOS Mullard CV4024's, current production Mullard EL34, and Psvane 211-T valves. All bought as matched quads. I don't obsessively keep count of the hours but I'm confident in saying they've all had only a few of hundred hours use so the majority of their life is still ahead of them.
I do have the boxes for them so they *could* be shipped, but it may be expensive. The amps come in two large boxes, 670x445x460mm @ 32Kg each and the valves would also need a large box as the 211's come in a couple of quite big "cutlery box" style presentation cases. I'd suggest collection would be preferable.
I paid £1800 for these plus a shade over £500 replacing all the valves and I'd like to get back as much of my original purchase back as possible, but I'm a reasonable bloke and perfectly happy to haggle! :) I'll put the price of the re-valve down to "running costs". ;)
I realise that's still a fair chunk of cash so I'm willing to take pretty much anything interesting in part exchange. Although pre-amps are on my radar at the moment (especially balanced and/or valve) there's plenty of other stuff I could do with (single or multiple items), hell, I'd needn't necessarily be HiFi either! WHY?..... Try me, you never know! :D
And another thing! Anyone I know and, members of the forum with a reputation in good standing, who are genuinely interested may contact me and arrange to try these lovely amp's in their own system for a few days if they like? Not sure how the logistics would work out on that, but I'm sure we could come to some sort of arrangement.
I'll also deliver these within a 50 mile radius of Redcar completely FOC.
