Specially commisioned unit . It originally comprised an AP10H headphone amp that I wanted upgraded to a no compromise head / pre amp to drive notorious AKG k702 cans that require a lot of current drive that is simply beyond your average headamp.
Anyone who believes the AKG cannot do bass should think again.
It is a fabulous unit that will drive any cans you wish to use, with room to spare and is as clean as a whistle.

The unit now boats the following features above and beyond the original unit:
AP10H with double inputs (switched on the back panel)
On set of pre outs to drive power amps, active speakers etc.
Stepped attenuator as seen on the P50sa and P90sa pre amps.
new (smarter volume knob)
Separate psu.

When used a passive pre, the psu can be switched off.

Excellent condition.
Cost over £630 new.

If my 'vanilla' AP10 is the best I've heard with my Grados, then this is excellent value, I would've gone for it had I not already have what I think is more than I need already! Just an utterly controlled, refined and balanced sound. People who have become accustomed to hyped up bass & mid bass will take some time to get used to the neutrality of this headphone amp. Just makes you want to focus on the rest of the gear really in terms of potential upgrades, and draws little attention to itself.

In reality it is a full NVA power amp, just scaled down for headphones, IIRC initial versions didn't use the big output transistors, but the new ones do and so drive anything.

One point though: the P90SA uses an Elma / Shinkoh pot, whilst the P50SA uses (already excellent) Dale (I think) resistors.
