Spotify Premium

Hi all

I have Spotify Premium

Can anyone tell me is the quality of sound the same if I went to one of their lesser products, say 'Unlimited' ?

I have found the quality of the Premium to be very good but I am always after saving a few £'s if I can

Ogg Vorbis 320kbs is only possible on Premium as long as it is available and selected. On the other services it is a maximum of 160kbs. So the quality of sound should be better much of the time. I have used Premium for quite a few years now for this reason and the fact that I can also use it through the Squeezeboxes. Of course, you do get some other advantages such as offline via mobile devices. It is quite a price hike to premium but I think it is worth it. You can get an enormous amount of music in a month for the outlay.

I use Unlimited and to be honest I've no complaints regarding music quality as long as one bears in mind you are listening to a 160kbps file. I tend to listen to Spotify when I am browsing t'internet or bumming around on here, therefore I am not listening so critically.

I use Spotify Premium into an M-dac or Naim Dac v1 via a laptop usb. I did some comparisons between unlimited and premium on my systems, for me premium was worth the additional funds, I find it a good way to evaluate new music or listen to music that I perhaps wouldn't normally commit to buying.

Just put up with some adds / turn the volume down ;)

Not very often though , Vinyl is the way forward :D

Deezer have an offer at the moment, half price for their top 320 Kbps service, so less than a fiver a month for 6 months.

I found it better than Spotify as it isn't causing me the problems that Spotty did.

For the sake of a fiver a month extra the Premium service looks like a great deal to me.
Personally I don't use Spotify as I like to own my music, but if I was to go down the Spotify route it would certainly be the Premium package.

Premium rocks - saved me a fortune over the years, I still buy music, but I am more selective and only buy what I really like - £9.99 a month, but has probably saved me 10 times that a month, and I still support artists I genuinely like.

I use the premium stream as well but Spotify is not there to support artists. But that's another discussion.

never heard the free one but I would think quality is worth paying for as its absolutely brilliant on some albums

I totally agree with you Alex_uk. I used to buy loads of albums and genuinely like very few of them, I would generally like one out of every twenty I would buy. Not only that but spotify links me to all sorts of music I would never have found, it has really re kindles my love for music.
