ABOUT ZU AUDIO

“High end audio companies like to claim that they create speakers that don’t sound like any other. Usually, such assertions are just talk. But Utah based Zu Audio breaks almost every rule of speaker design.” (Steve Gutternberg)

The secret lies in their design. All Zu Audio speakers feature a 10.3″ full-range driver that covers bass, mid and well up into the treble range. In addition they don’t use a complex cross over network. The inherent problem with multi-way speakers is that they slice and dice the audio signal with the hope that it can be reconstituted in the listening room. Instead Zu Audio use an almost direct – coupled approach which yields major sonic dividends in the critical mid range region.

The results are sensational!! Not only are they one of the most enjoyable speakers I’ve listened to in a long time, but they also look amazing. With Zu Audio, voices sound human, instruments are genuine, and impact and resolution of musical details are consistent from extended treble right through to deep bass. These speakers really rock!

Importantly, they don’t cost the earth. Zu Audio products offer sincere value and are priced to reflect genuine economics.

Zu Audio has just celebrated it’s 10th anniversary in 2010, and here at Audio Counsel we believe its the start of a very special company. Audio Counsel is extremely excited about this unique brand from America and is pleased to be the only dealer in the UK to stock their products. At present we stock the Omen, the Omen Definition & Druid Mk. V. Enjoy reading about the products and the relevant reviews, but remember to call in to listen to these products. ABOUT AUDION

Audion was founded on a simple, singular concept. To allow people to get an insight into high end audio without sacrificing their home or bank balance. Two decades on this philosophy still holds true today. Their aim is to deliver music as close to the originally recorded sounds as can possible. They are able to do this through extensive research of various circuit topologies, together with specially selected components from around the world. This puts them at the forefront of valve audio reproduction, delivering world class products that we think you will enjoy.

History has been kind to Audion since Erik Andersson and David Chessel started the company in the late 1980s. It survived two decades in an age when the average lifetime of a startup high-end-audio company was less than five years. In 2000 Graeme Holland took Audion over from Chessel and moved operations to the Bordeaux region of France, where he happens to live—in fact, to a large barn attached to the side of his house and converted into a custom-manufacturing facility.

Greame, by trade, is a computer systems designer with a strong grounding in electronics and industrial technology, bringing a unique flair and presence to Audion. His innovative approach allows Audion to remain at the cutting edge of technological advancements and to excel in the cut throat industry of modern tube technologies.

Graeme personally prefers “a system that is non-fatiguing and musical rather than an extremely analytical system where you crane your ears to listen to what they are saying in the background of Jazz at the Pawnshop for example [or] where a guy on a mixing desk didn’t properly change a level or a drummer dropped a stick. Our high-end products will retrieve this info and more, admittedly, but I maintain that a good amplifier is not only transparent but musical and engaging and a pleasure to listen to for a whole evening and more. I believe our amps are primarily musical.”

Here at audio counsel we are pleased to announce we only one of a select few Audion Valve Amplifier dealers in the UK. We stock the the Audion Sterling EL34, Audion Silvernight 300B & Black Shadow 845′s. Enjoy reading about the products and the relevant reviews, but remember to call in to listen to these products first hand. Find out more about Audion.
