HI all

been a while since I was on here, so hello again. Ok shall I begin.. yes.

I've a SL120mkII deck, that has been upgraded with Vann Damme phono wire, and I am now looking to upgrade the toneArm wires to something better than the stock.

However I am a bit lost to be honest, even after reading the "Is upgrading the tonearm wire worth it" thread. Also a few sites i've looked at show just the Phono cables etc.. but I already have these.

Please help! I don't wish to spend £500 or anything daft like that, just something acceptable for under £100 please.

All the best and thanks in advance for any advice or help given.

Graeme

Hi Graeme, KAB do a kit for about your budget depending on the wire you want as does MCRU, seems a bit of a faff to be honest but there's a step by step guide on here.

I'm in the same boat as yourself sans phono cable but I'm going to replace the stock arm and stock phono cables.

J7 of Audio origami seemingly does an upgrade to the tonearm inc a rewire but the cost for that appears to be in the '£180 ballpark' so not worth it IMO relative to a new arm.

is this internal wires? if so, send it to jonny at audio origami and get it rewired. he'll fettle the bearings at the same time....

for cardas internal it's about £80, i think the £180 includes an external cable too, which you don't appear to need?

hi chaps, firstly thank you for the reply, I know I must seem like a noob but thank you.

I have a friend whom I've run the job by, he also replaced the phono leads and plugs to the Vann Damme ones over a year ago and it made a massive difference (RichB will contest to Pink Floyd coming alive).

so I will now been looking at the tiny fiddly wires online and making a purchase.

thanks for the reply but I only require the tone arm internal cables, as I have already the external cables with RCA plug ends that fit to a stage or amp... so it's jsut the small wires that run from the end of the tone arm to the PCB and not the already fitted Vann Damme external cables. cheers guys
