Last night I added an external PSU...to go with the feet, fluid damping, headshell, clamp, mat, cover and various cartridges that I've bought for my TT in the year I've had it. Obviously then immediately I started thinking "what next?". It occurred to me that at some point the TT becomes like Triggers Broom from Only Fools & Horses - "Had it 20 years.... it's had 17 new heads and 14 new handles". Is it really his broom any more? :doh:

That won't stop me, but it'd be funny/interesting to know the "least-Techie, Techie" out there... if you see what I mean? :lol:

I'd noticed that too. But love (and will borrow) the term "Triggers broom" :lol:

It will always be an 1200 if you keep the motor.

A jaguar ford and my freelander share the same 2.2l diesel engine. Are they all freelanders?

Good point about the motor, and I guess along with the chassis that's about the core of it. I was only joking. I suspect the new year will see me do the tone arm and that will just leave the bearing begging for the upgrade treatment.

I know as much about biology as you know of of 15th Century Indian Rope Dancing but my understanding is that within the space of seven years all cells in our bodies have been replaced.

It's ok. You're still Andrei, even with a new set of cells every 7 years. But I think you'd still be Andrei after a heart transplant. Unless of course it was a technics sl1200 heart :)
