A couple of members have spotted problems with audio when updating Apple Mac systems to the latest OS X - "Mavericks".
Many people have found the upgrade works for them, and there do seem to be some significant benefits particularly regarding speed and battery life for laptops. However audio enthusiasts are reporting problems, including some driver and other software problems for third party software. There have also been complaints about audio via iTunes, though whether these are well founded or not is uncertain. Apple has screwed audio up before, and although it did eventually get things fixed, it took quite a while.

Does anybody here have any specific experiences of the benefits, or otherwise, of installing Mavericks?

No problems here on my Mac Mini
I use Pure Music and it is working fine and best of all integer mode has been restored with Mavericks.
