Well gentle folk of the AoS, it's that time of year again I'm nearly a year older and people are struggling to buy presents again, so this year I thought I'd take matters into my own hands and grab myself a new 'vintage' amp.

Trouble is I don't know, what I'm looking for, pre early eighties is pretty much a given, solid state, yes but after that I just don't know.

So what do you have languishing in your attics garages, dark corners?

Condition wise? Not really fussy, faulty, working its all the same to me.

Price wise just let me know, but this isn't ebay, and whatever I buy is going to be restored to some degree so I won't really do silly prices.

So what do you have?

I haven't got anything suitable, but I'm thinking maybe a Musical Fidelity Synthesis might do the trick. A friend had one recently and it was pretty good. Well built too.

I still like the original NAD3020 too, although people sometimes ask too much for these nowadays. Of course there's always the A60. Another lovely amp that just makes music.

Or, you could get a Creek 4040 which is another "goodie". This one is appropriately priced at 40 quid
