I have to suffer this nonsense because her "inside of the doors" (a nod to Stavros for this gem) insists it is good. Without fail she will fall asleep during most of this interminable 2 hour dross fest. In her lucid moments I will ask "is this any good"...Answer:.."oh yes". I have never got a clue what is going on and have no need to know either. I am sure that the same goes for her.

My ex watches soaps incessantly and when we were together sometimes I'd be unfortunate enough to be sat eating my dinner when they were airing so I learnt the names of most of the characters. To get my own back I'd make a point of asking her the next time I was unlucky enough to be pinned to the sofa by one of her delightful dinners whilst enduring the worst torture technique since testicular electrocution was invented, why Phil Mitchel was shagging a banana (made up plot). Throwing me a pitying look she'd feel obliged to update me on the entire plot since I last suffered an episode of Eastenders some several weeks before, thus missing the rest of the episode. Cruel perhaps but it would leave me feeling all fluffy inside... ;)

LOL Dave. I have come to the conclusion that this Parrot guff is all style over substance. Over acting?

Her good Parrot is too long in the tooth, or should that be beak.

These are said to be the last 4 episodes ever to be made (2 more after tonights) There is a God after all.

If it can be called 'acting'. Perhaps 'acting' by Laura Ashley would be the best description ;)

What are you lot wittering on abaht?

When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought that "Aircool Pworough" was a new wonder pile ointment

But now I know it's some sort of half-arsed trash on telly instead of listening to sweet moosic on yer eyefyes, like what I is. Pffft

Took me a while to work that out

My other half watches ITV3 and detective stuff constantly. Morse, Lies, various serial killers, gore and evisceration a speciality.
I'm am so glad we have separate TV viewing arrangements.

Get her into Person of Interest. Now that is well worth anyone's time.#
Mentalist not bad either

I watched 2 or 3 of the very first episodes. So I know what I'm talking about - awful crap.
I was persuaded some years ago that Sex and the Siddee was wonderful so watched that for about 2-3 episodes as I thought I was missing something - I wasn't - awful

I thought from the title that this was a Welsh language programme :)

Only women are allowed to watch that.

I came in here expecting to find nice pictures of pimped VeeDubs!

Still I'm glad to know I'm not the only one afflicted by this, just lately out of nowhere she's become a huge emerdale fan (?!WTF!?)

I guess I'm lucky. Jo hates all the soaps but loves motor racing (especially F1) and footie. She enjoys a good documentary plus she is nuts about music and hifi. Oh, and she drinks pints instead of halves :D

Aircool Pworough: You're supposed to read in in a cartoon Belgian accent Marco....

Ah reet-o.... The thought didn't occur to me!

Other than the thread title, Rob didn't really indicate which programme he was referring to, and so when Dave replied to him first and mentioned soaps, I automatically presumed that the thread title had something to do with some obscurely named TV soap opera!!

Lol... It's another situation that highlights how our minds work (i.e. unprompted, "Aircool Pworough" simply appeared as gobbledygook to me), and also how easily things are misinterpreted on forums, fuelled by the limitations of the written word (i.e. whatever message is intended to be portrayed by the OP may at the time be obvious in his or her mind, but rather less 'obvious' to subsequent readers later.... ;)

T'is also fascinating how our tastes change over the years. For example, I hated Bergerac when I was younger and yet these days when I catch an episode I am gripped. That's the old retirement gene kicking in early. I'd need to be six foot under before I'd enjoy Poirot though  Does anyone remember Shoestring starring Trevor Eve? I love that show ;)

When I first got cable in '95 they were repeating Shoestring which I'd not seen since the original broadcasts. It wasn't as good as I'd remembered. Great theme tune, though. As for your Bergerac problem, I'd go and see the vet. They can do wonders these days, you know ;)
