... but blurry heavy. We have to bring it in for the winter every year to avoid getting it frosted.

Anyway, I was looking through the woodpile today and found a lump of 40mm worktop. The temporary stands under the bitsas were a bit wobbly, so I thought I'd make a stronger pair. These are stable - very. They, like the tree, are also heavy. Speakers are now rock steady and certainly a bit clearer than they were. I never believe in these night and day differences I see reported but subtle improvements are always welcome.

The surprising thing is that I haven't felt the need to go back the Quads yet. I will of course, but I'm enjoying these at the moment.

In the main system, its normally - Firebottle OTL / Quad 57s / Pioneer 901 CD player / Home built TT based on Sansui DD motor - Rega RB300 with Technics 205 cartridge. Homemade switchbox.
As I'm playing at the moment - Leak Stereo 20 / Home built speakers / Marantz CD63SE / ditto (Pioneer is at the doctors)

System 2. Mac G5 (soon to be MacPro) / Behringer DAC / Rogers Ravensbrook / Homebuilt speakers - KefB200 and Celestion HF1300.
Bed 1. Musical Fidelity A100 / Quad FM4 / Kef 101s / Philips CD608
Bed 2. Huge Pioneer headbanging system, godzillions of watts all over the place with JBL something or other - my wife's stuff:eek: (she used to listen to Black Sabbath in preparation for keeping chickens!!)

Plus sadly, a load of unused bits in the loft. Fairly typical I guess:)

Sadly, a bit green at the mo. The tree is only a couple of years old but its started to produce. This time next year should see a regular supply for the drinks but also and for me, most importantly, the pancakes!!! Sod one day a year, its every week for me:)
