I have just stumbled upon this site, looks great. I guess by definition I am an audiophile, I have always enjoyed both listening to music along with appreciating quality reproduction. I am English but live in Brazil, unfortunately here there is not such a large following of HiFi enthusiasts. My system briefly : Cambridge Audio CD6 Cd player, very articulate. Alchemist Forseti power amp, Little Dot MKIII pre-amp with Mullard Tubes wonderful combination, this destroyed my original Alchemist Forseti pre amp. Projet 2.9 Turntable, Valab tube phono, without spending silly money still better than my digital sources. Firstone Audio Fubar IO MKII, a fabulous little Dac with upgraded power supply. I have not auditioned any very expensive DAC's circa £1000 + but this liitle baby really was a significant upgrade and real surprise with its sonic capabilities for less than £300, also has Analogue to digital for copying vynal onto my computer with Audacity software. Nearly forgot speakers Pink Triangle Ventricles, mega rare with a ribbon tweeter lovely rich sound which just flows, excellent stero imaging. All cables etc Nordost Blue Heaven, again very good upgrade, may seem expensive but the return is worthwhile. With the bi wired speaker cables the music has an inky black silent background, no haze.
I principally found this site while doing a Google for the Bantam Gold amp, I have recently purchased and am waiting on delivery, I have read so many positive reviews that I have decided to experiment, to this end I shall probably want to bi amp, any suggestions or advice would be appreciated, especially regarding phono configuration and connection from the pre amp.
My music is vary varied, Chillout, classic rock bands, electronic, even some 50's. Favorite band probably ELO still!
