Now that I've taken on Zyx, I am offering my own personal cartridge for sale so that I can have a Zyx on permanent demo. I am very sad to see this go as it has been the very best MC cartridge I've ever owned and one of the very best that I've ever heard.
It's a Zyx 5000 bought brand new in December 2010, so less than 3 years old and less than 200 hours on it from new. The cart has such low hours because it shares duties with other carts on my other deck and with my CDP. In fact, I'd be surprised if it has as much as 200 hours, it's probably closer to 150.
Needless to say it is in mint, pristine condition and even under a 60x microscope, the stylus looks practically unworn as far as I can tell. It tracks superbly and sounds wonderful. Rich tonality which majors on mid range but retaining a lovely authoritative bass which drops very deep. Highs are extremely well extended and exceptionally smooth in presentation. Overall, very slightly warm of neutral. It's a lovely thing to behold, almost jewel-like!
