Hello
I have dabbled in audio equipment for a long time but never spent a lot of money on it. I started whilst at school with my old A&R Cambridge A60, Sansui record deck and Mission speakers. Later I purchased a Micromega CD player, Rega Planar 3, Audiolab 8000A and Acoustic Energy speakers. However, most of my money was spent on the music. I now have a collection of oldish systems that are mainly driven by Squeezeboxes (11 of them) distributed around the house. I still have most of the equipment I acquired over the years (I am a bit of a hoarder!) some of which has been repaired a few times. I am currently trying to finish off the system in my office but I don't have the time to audition much equipment and I am still spending the money on the music! In particular, I am trying to decide on a power amp to go with my Quad ESL-63s and Tisbury preamp.
Other equipment includes Arcam AVR and DVD; Marantz and Cambridge amplifiers; Tannoy, Acoustic Energy, Mordaunt Short, Quad and Castle speakers.
My musical interests are pretty wide ranging. I might easily listen to Andreas Scholl, Lau, Swans and Jon Hopkins in the same session.
