Good morning!
I live in the USA and have just purchased my fourth Beresford dac. The latest, the Bushmaster MKII, is still in its infant stages as I am channeling music and sound through the unit.
I discovered Beresford when I first attempted to purchase a dac for my system. After reading many advertisements and treads, like this forum, I went to the Beresford website and discovered the affordability of the units. After purchasing three 7520's, including two Caiman first generations, I was given a Cambridge DacMagic. I liked the Cambridge's warm sound but was not completely pleased with the lack of detail--like those of the Beresford's; so I sold it and emailed Mr. Beresford for his latest model.
I am using the Bushmaster as my sound dac for my recording studio. I auditioned many, including Rega, Musical Fidelity and others. I have to admit that the Bushmaster is not only equal to the more expensive units but is in many ways cleaner and more detailed in the replication of music--which is so important during mix-down and editing.
I applaud small entrepreneurs who are capable of producing wonderful products at a reasonable cost.
Paraphrasing my father: "Get the best result from that which you can afford; why spend the extra dollars to 'squeeze blood' from a turnip!"
Thank you for allowing me to join; I have always wanted to but were too lazy until being prompted by Mr. Beresford.
