Hi all ,
First post on these forums. So, some background on me: I am a Finn based in Finland, but have lived, worked and studied abroad for a total of more than 15 years - including, but not limited to Zambia, Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, UK and Denmark. This perhaps also (at least partially) explains my fairly broad taste in music.
My kit has changed somewhat over the years, but I currently have following in my main rig:
Source: Linn LP12, Radikal, Keel, Aro, Akiva
Phono: Dynavector P75 MkII
Amps: McIntosh 60th Anniversary set (C22 pre and MC75 monoblocks)
Speakers: Harbeth Monitor 30.1
Cabling: Tellurium Q

Hi Teme,
Welcome to the forum. So what are some of your broad musical tastes then?
So what are some of your broad musical tastes then?
Thanks for the welcome. And that's actually a difficult question - at least for me - what are the genres and which ones are sub-genres? Anyway, I would say that I primarily listen to (in no particular order): acoustic, jazz, country, world, folk, blues, r&b, rap, pop, punk, rock, metal, folk and classical :) Perhaps with a slight leaning towards the jazz and acoustic...

Hi temmu,
welcome to AOS. I like loads of different styles of music too. Music from Finland being one of them, all sorts from Varttina , Jimi Tenor,Iiro Rantala, Emilia Lajunen, Pekko Kappi to name but a few.

Hi,
Here's a warm welcome from me too!
I spent a few years in Zambia, as a kid but it didn't change my taste in music - I still like most of it!
I think you'll find it good here - here's hoping you can give to and take from and AoS in equal measures, even if it's just music recommendations.
Cheers

Hi Teme and welcome
That's some travelling
I put my broad tastes in music down to John Peel
I'd love to hear an LP12 of those mods against a modded Technics
Mike
Thank you all for the warm welcome :)

Hi,
I didn't have that in mind when upgrading the LP12. And I don't necessarily call myself a Linnie. I tend try and keep my feet on the ground and not claim that something is the best because there rarely is just one ultimately right solution for everyone. All systems are a sum of their parts and the deck is just one of those parts. Having said that, I do like the LP12 and think that it is a good deck. Anyway, I just posted a pic in the gallery: http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?28677-My-setup&p=493628#post493628
