View Full Version : Wanted: Furutech UK Plug (or similar straight plug)
Hi All,
I am after either 3 or 4 Furutech UK Plugs.
Or any other straight type plugs!
Have just bought some new gear and cable I can't afford to pay full price for all 3 or 4 so am looking for a good deal.
I need them to connect to my new Isotek GII Vision. As it sitting on a shelve in a cabinet there isn't enough room for the cable I have using with standard shape plugs and it lifts the back end of the Isotek off the shelve. Hence the reason for wanting straight plugs.
Having said that, I may be interested in 1 standard shaped plug to connect the Isotek to the mains.
Thanks
Guy
Thanks

I've got three Calipso orange plugs in a drawer somewhere I was going to use but in all honesty probably won't, I think they were £20-25 a piece, u can have all 3 for £35 delivered
They are just like the Russ Andrews ones but with orange bodies and instead of having to bend the cable around inside to screw into side entries the cable goes straight into the screw terminanals as they are facing the cable inlet
I can throw in a bog standard black ordinary p,ug for the wall also

I have some clear body ones, assume same as Dan's orange
here's a tip
buy these which are uk to schuko plug adapters, about a fiver each, then change the plugs on your mains leads to schuko plugs again about a fiver each, then when funds allow order a schuko back panel for your vision
instead of the fitted uk one, when you have fitted the back panel remove the adapters below and fit schuko plugs direct into panel, of course schuko plugs are in line so stick out at the correct angle
as long as the mains lead attaching your vision to the wall has a fuse in it it's all perfectly sensible and legal, schuko plugs cost much less even audiophile ones!

That's not a bad idea?
How easy is it to replace the back panel of the vision and how much does it cost? Or would it be just cheaper and easier to just the buy the Furutech plugs :)
I have some clear body ones, assume same as Dan's orange
How much do you want for them?
Sorry Dan, I know it shouldn't matter but I am not digging the orange. Thanks very much for the offer though.

I have a back panel on order for my vision as it happens but never ask the price! I will enquire for you, its a 10 minute job to change it, what you have to think about also is the Furutech UK plugs are £88 each, they have a cheapo fuse fitted, so for the plugs to perform at their best requires a better fuse, so £88 x 6 plus fuses is a "lot" of money, a back panel plus 6 schuko plugs will cost nowhere near as much and actually sound better too!
I use al Schuko myself and agree with Dave, perfect sense!

OK, this sounds interesting. It would be great if you could get me a price.
With regards to changing the back panel - is it a case of un-attaching some connectors or is there soldering required?

I'd still be interested in these as a stop gap if the price was right :)
