Fantastic battery usb dac. Like all John Kenny devices well made and deliver well above its price point.
Best with young driver rather than proprietary one. Looking for £270 inc postage. Includes wallwart charger.
I got the CIUNAS and wouldn't mind trying something totally different to get a flavour of what is out there.

Really nice DAC Tony. For those wanting a really good USB based DAC this comes highly recommended
I think you find it hard to beat the Ciunas if going USB. Perhaps if you spent lots of money The Octavia is very nice with a slightly different presentation. Someone like Clive can describe the difference more as he had both in his system

Ok John I'll chuck in my view.

Tony, as John said I've have jkdac32, Ciunas in my system along with the Octave mk ii with usb power from ifi ipowerusb.

Ciunas and Octave are totally different technologically but the difference in sound is quite small. The Ciunas wins at the top end and the Octave is just a little more expressive in the mid, I liken the effect to be a little like an SE amp. Overall I would classify the two dacs at performing at the same level with there being small differences that allow you to chose your preference. The Ciunas is better value as long as you only need USB input.

Hi lads I was wondering should I put in 'feisty' dac in the ad to cover off JK's willingness to take on the foo fighting army?
Never heard the mkii or i and tbh the mkii that came up on wigwam was the reason for putting up the jkdac32. Just wanted to try a different flavour.
For the money JK's are difficult to beat. Don't need to sell it and probably shouldn't as it works a dream in my second system(Spendor A6 and Prima Luna PL2)

Have found that the days of just buying the desired new product and shifting the existing kit have disappeared. Ultimately I have to hear an audionote and Lampizator but very much hope I will be underwhelmed!
