Hi Dan
I have an Audio Note Oto SE integrated for sale at the moment. I was asking £1,100 or nearest offer

Don't know if that's within your budget or not and whether your speakers are sensitive enough for it to deliver it's best

Postage will be on top of that and it's pretty heavy

I MAY also have an YAQIN MC-100B integrated which uses KT88's and gives about 30w in Triode or about 60w in Ultra-Linear mode

I'd want approximately £460 for this amp. I think for the money there is absolutely nothing to touch it

Hope that helps

I should add that postage is extra, the Yaqin weighs an absolute ton; the heaviest amp I have ever had the misfortune to pick-up !!! :D

Dan, be very careful buying Chinese valve amps as most of them do not work properly on UK mains unless it is Ok on 240 VAC.

You might get an Audio Innovations 500 for that money. I love them and feel they are incredible vfm. If you can't stretch that far, look out for one of those AVC/Dynavox VR-70e amps. They are also el34 based and can produce great results for £2-300 second hand.

You are quite right Shaun in your caution in buying Chinese amps, luckily the Yaqin I have is totally set up for UK use, so no problems there. The only problem I have with this this amp is the weight, my back really hurts after lifting it...

Might be worth asking on the Wam. A few owners over there so you might just flush one out :)

Get one for £500 and I can't see you ever losing money on it if you ever do sell. Bet you don't sell it tho :)

I am very sure the Yaqin would outperform most amps at anywhere near the price

If you haven't tried/owned/used one you cannot imagine how good this amp is :)

Audioromy FU29 is 30w per channel Class A and uses 4x GE JAN-5670W valves for the pre and 2x FU29 tubes for the power amp.

£250 cash on collection.

Not mine but I'd be tempted to take a punt at this price:-)

How about this? http://www.world-designs.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=6904 . A bit above budget, but a bargain for a good 300B amp, and built by one of the very best. John Caswell (AKA Dr John) has a life-time of experience with valve amps. He advises on the WD forum, and trouble-shoots customer builds for WD if I'm not mistaken. He's in Woking, which isn't far from you. This will be in a different league from anything Chinese.

Scott Nangle here on AOS can sort you out with a great £500 valve amp.
Had one of his 3 box Dared 300B amps and it was a great bit of kit.

I agree with Shane, http://www.world-designs.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=6904, this is a great amp indeed, I have heard it in action at John's place, could be tempted myself if funds allow.
Listened to Greg's 300b yesterday on Paul's (reffc) Fidelio speakers, it sounded very good and gave little away to the SS amps in the system, John's is on parr with this amp, maybe even better imho, well worth the extra cash.

Another on the shopping list should be the Prima Luna Prologue One ... Second hand examples start at the £500 - £600 mark...

Rare but a good option ...

Hi Dave
Thanks for your comments. I also believe that the amp I have offered represents very good value for money

I think anyone that has heard the mighty Yaqin would have been very impressed indeed

Bev
