View Full Version : Has anyone heard the Audio Technica AT50 ANV or ART7?

Audio Technica introduced a new very low output MC cart at the top of its range a couple of years ago, but only in Japan, so it's very difficult to find any impressions on the internet. They've since introduced the ART7, which retails very slightly cheaper. This one has a lighter body and seems to be either a trickle down version of the AT50 ANV or a slightly modified version. It's hard to see if there is a clear hierarchy.

Has anyone heard either of these, or even read any impressions?

I use an AT33EV and like it, so the thought of these superior carts is tantalising, but I've never tried very low output carts before so it's unknown territory for me.

(Incidentally I would be using one with either a Well Tempered Amadeus or a 401 with Audionote Arm One. I suspect carts of this order might be more suited to an Arm Three, but I am already pretty impressed by the lowest of the Audio Note range.)

I've heard an ART1, superb, probably the best i've heard, very musical indeed.
