That's a great catch Keith. I thought the LS1's sounded very good at Munich. Smaller speakers in a larger room and they filled it quite remarkably. I returned to have a listen quite a few times and no matter where you stood it sounded good, I think that's testament to the quality of their DSP and driver integration in the XO. And they're pretty sanely priced for a complete package -source.

Thanks Simon, I like them, I realise they won't appeal to everyone, but if you enjoy an extremely uncoloured sound and are looking for an elegant uncluttered system.

Keith if I wasn't an inveterate tinkerer and DIY'er they'd be top of my list. They just made great music and were true to the source, I don't think you can really ask for anything more.

I've had a fair bit of back and forth with him over the years on DIYaudio, he's a smart cookie, no doubt, one of the smartest.

The LS1's are pretty much set, I have followed the manufacturers guidelines as much as possible, preferably half a metre from side and rear walls, I tried the usual 30 degree toe in but preferred the 45degree method where the speakers cross about a ,metre in front of the listeners head.
Grimm state they set out to make the most uncoloured ,transparent and revealing loudspeaker and in my opinion they have.
I have never heard this much resolution from familiar recordings before, yet the Ls1's aren't forward or sterile, hard, dry or clinical .
They just sound fantastic ,whether it is because they are active ,three NCore Class D amps per channel or whether it is the crossovers being created using DSP, (phase is also corrected ) I don't know , but they are the best speakers I have heard here to date.
They are absolutely state of the art.
Keith.

Unfortunately, neither of the review links actually go to a PDF - they just take you to the Grimm home page and I couldn't see them.

The Grimm Audio LS1's arrive flat packed but set up is straightforward, the main sealed enclosure is held initially by magnets and then bolted to the legs , one of which contain the loudspeakers electronics ,three channels of NCore power amplification.http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb255/coopie_photo/PA294121_zpsfcba6956.jpg (http://s206.photobucket.com/user/coopie_photo/media/PA294121_zpsfcba6956.jpg.html)

The Grimm Audio LS1's have A/D and D/A built in, they use DSP to implement their crossover and to correct driver anomalies.
When the Grimm subwoofer is added the system integrates the new driver seamlessly, even correcting absolute phase.
The system allows you to decide on the lowest frequency of the bass ,from 20Hz upwards, you can set the amount of gain from the sub, and select low shelf filters, there are settings for 30 and 45 degree toe in, you can choose to limit the amount of driver excursion,
( to avoid damaging the drivers).
The remote control allows you to select any source and to control volume,.
They integrate beautifully into a room, and the sound quality is the finest I have heard from any sonventional loudspeaker,
Keith.

The Grimm LS1's. two ways have an srp of Euros 15k, and the three ways Euros 20k, that price is for a complete system you just have to add sources.
A/D and D/A are inbuilt, as are six channels of. NCore amplification you simply add the sources of your choice analogue or digital.
They come with a full featured remote, and async USB connectivity.
They are the best measuring loudspeakers currently available and they sound absolutely superb.

Ahh right yeah, didn't see that! Slightly above my budget though! I do like the active approach to things though,so i suspect i would quite enjoy them! Quick question if you don't mind as you seem to be the person to ask.Do you sell any room correction equipment or can point me in the right direction re: intergrating a sub into my system? It's something i would like to try!

Darren Hi,the LS1 are the best conventional loudspeakers I have heard, bar none, in the future all I suspect all loudspeakers will be designed long their lines.
Re room correction, I have been experimenting with Dirac , you need a microphone but they needn't be expensive, active room correction can really help if you have room issues.

You must have heard some pretty special speakers in your time,so that is very high praise indeed! Be nice to hear them one day.

Well i have just bagged myself an ARC Anthem Room Correction System for £55. Made with Paradigm involved as well.I believe i have Anthem amps in my speakers, although not 100% sure.I suspect they are though! So it should work well with the system i have hopefully.Looking forward to seeing what room correction can do!

If anyone else is interested in one,the guy on ebay has another one going! It is missing one cable which is easy to get hold of and will be cheap! I offered £40 for it,which he accepted.£15 for delivery. Here is the link, first come, first serve! :D

Just found out the software will only work with an Anthem pre/processor A/V amp! Which is a shame.Still worth it for the mic though!

The mic will not work either, unless you have an Anthem Pro/AV amp! So a complete waste of time on my part!
