Hi all

I've loved music all my life and was introduced to the wonders of Hi-fi by my Dad who loved nothing better than to sit down and listen to good music.

Compared to many of you my system is very modest indeed. A Naim Nait 3 amp, Epos ES12 speakers, Squeezebox Touch and a new Beresford Bushmaster II DAC :D

I thought that the Naim system would be a good base for future upgrades. Unfortunately in my thirties I had a quite serious ear infection which left me with slight tinnitus and hearing loss in one ear.

That pretty much cured my desire for mega expensive upgrades. There wasn't much point in spending incredible amounts of money if my ears weren't up to hearing the difference!

However it did make me focus on what was most important, the music and not the gear.

Look forward to chatting to you.

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave and welcome to AoS.
I'm sorry to read about your hearing problem. So apart from the mono effect, do you really have such low definition in your good ear that you can't appreciate the differences?
As you say, the music is the most important thing - what sort of music do you like to play?

Cheers

Hi Chris

I can actually appreciate the difference in my better ear. The other ear suffers from a definite lack of Treble and midrange frequencies, base is fine though!

My musical tastes are quite varied from guitar based indie rock through to classical, not a massive fan of jazz though!

Cheers

Dave
