Hi Al,

Thanks i have looked but a lot are for spares & repair which would not be ideal

I have a soft spot for the JVC M90 too... but like the example below, £2,640+ is just a touch more than I'd like to shell out...:stalks:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JVC-RC-M90-JW-Boombox-w-CARTON-w-Accessories-/190723572792

I'd also love Sharp GF-767 or GF-777, but they too command top dollar (pound, shilling & pence)

I used to have one of the giant Hitachi efforts similar to the one in the photo above but I lent it out to someone years ago and never got it back. The tuner section didn't work on it but it only cost me £15.

Sorry to keep reminiscing... but I've had a Sharp GF-575 too which was a fantastic piece of kit... I took it to a mates workshop a few years back and as far as I'm aware, it may well still be there!

http://audiogold.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/BIG_GF-575.jpg

I also had one of these Pioneer SK707's:

http://i89.servimg.com/u/f89/13/09/45/18/pionne10.jpg

It sounded great but had an insatiable appetite for chewing cassette tapes!

Although its nice to look back reminiscing i remember back where you could pick them up for £5 a pop at car boots and markets now you lucky if you see one under £50 i have only seen one in the last few years i suppose their a collectible
symbol now :). Have a look in the work shop it might still be their  will make you an offer for it if you want to sell.?

Wish I could Dan... we fell out big style and I'd feel a bit cheeky getting in touch now just to reclaim it! Anyway, it suffered with the dreaded cassette doors sticking, something of an achilles heel with these units...

None for sale but thought I'd show my Getto Blaster collection, these are used daily as site / workshop radio's so brace yourselves :sofa:.

Hitachi TRK-8200E.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u606/drtwas/IMG_5279_zpsiyucatyz.jpg (http://s1324.photobucket.com/user/drtwas/media/IMG_5279_zpsiyucatyz.jpg.html)

This was my Dad's workshop radio, I thought it was the shit when I was a kid.

Sharp GF8080.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u606/drtwas/IMG_5283_zpspnfaihrr.jpg (http://s1324.photobucket.com/user/drtwas/media/IMG_5283_zpspnfaihrr.jpg.html)

Betters the Hitachi but the tape deck doesn't work and the handle's broken so a bit inconvenient.

Sharp GF-555.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u606/drtwas/IMG_5287_zpsjm5zxdqm.jpg (http://s1324.photobucket.com/user/drtwas/media/IMG_5287_zpsjm5zxdqm.jpg.html)

Bit of a beast and the best sounding of all of them, (I believe) it even has a phono stage, just need a site TT now :D.

I do have another Hitachi but that's currently onsite.

That Hitachi is the model I used to have. Minus the blown speaker of course. It was the tuner in mine that was knackered

My boxes ..... All sound good and act as great iPod amps.....Hitachi unfortunately does not power up anymore :-( ....does anybody know what sort of person could look at the Hitachi to get it working? We're short of High Street Electrical shops nowadays.
