Well after saying I would NEVER part with these speakers, there has come a time (now'ish) when I will let these beauties go, I can't really believe I'm letting these go :(

They are in mint condition. I'd like £995 for them or very, very near offer before they go on the Bay...

Anyone interested in these classic speakers??

Sorry about the quality of the pics, I can take some more for anyone interested...

As these are the very latest LS 3/5a's you can buy they are bi-wireable. They are also in the more expensive Rosewood finish

Can be heard in Portsmouth...

I can post them, but not sure how much they will be to send. Unfortunately my original boxes were lost in transit to new house. I will order in the original boxes from Sterling to post them so I can assure safe delivery

I agree with you, the mid's are really superb and I'd say there is no better speaker at vocals too... I'd love to hang onto them really, but I just currently have far too much gear and some just has to go.... sadly ... :(:(

Mine are the original LS 3/5a's... Mine have the original, and supposed to be the best, T27 tweeter and B110 bass driver... the V2 has completely different drivers

Thanks Shane

I am sure they will sell fairly easily. If not here then on eBay as I know there are lots of people that know how good these are

I support XH558..... the ONLY airworthy Vulcan bomber flying... and she is just gorgeous...

I have my name in the Vulcan bomb bay....

I suggest ANYONE that wants to support the very last air worthy Vulcan should support it by giving ANYTHING you can afford... here's a link: http://www.vulcantothesky.org/donate.html

PLEASE give to the only remaining Vulcan flying

Thanks

This is MUCH MORE important than me selling my speakers !!!!!

Well done Dave.... I should have got that one

I've been into aircraft and flying from a VERY early age.... my dad used to work for De Havilland, so we used to get free air displays for years... I flew gliders and hang gliders for years too....

Love em....

Yup, Dave got it! Beautiful plane, one of the fastest piston powered fighters ever. Seen one being seriously chucked about at a show.

You won't guess the next avatar.

Now that is a tricky one

Looks as though its single piston and twin jet.... well it does to me

I was being ironic Bev. I loved the airshows and have been into planes ever since. I remember seeing the Red Arrows when they flew Folland Gnats, which ages me a bit. Let's see if I can remember a few more from that era: The ubiquitous Hawker Hunter of course, and then there were the Sea Vixens. The Blackburn Buccaneers and English Electric Lightnings too (so loud those). Gloucester Javelins and English Electric Canberra's. The weird but wonderful Handley Page Victor and of course one of your cherished fave's, the good old Avro Vulcan. Oh, and not to forget the Nimrod, a De Hailland Comet on steroids... lol

My school mate Pete, best man at my first wedding, was ground crew on the Vulcan bombers in the mid-eighties. It's a wonder any of them flew...

Was he the guy who always had a box of spare screws after the plane was wheeled out of the shop? :D

Correct. Also known as Convair XF-81 I believe. It must have taken you twenty minutes to track that down on the net, he he! ;)

Price of speakers should now be discussed on the thread devoted to that subject.
Please allow Bev to sell her speakers....or play about with aeroplanes if she would prefer it that way!

Buy them, Geoff. Their mid band could run circles around your Tannoy's!! ;)
