First Cold of The Season!

Isn't it a bugger, you get Summer out of the way and then you know it's just a matter of time before some nasty little bug smites you down.

I have my grandkids living with me and they bring all sorts of horrible infections home from school. On Sunday I started feeling a bit weird and sneezing and from Monday onwards I've felt like crap. Tonight in paricular, my head's going round and I keep coughing. I expect it'll go in a day or two, then I can look forward to the next one. :(

Some people never seem to catch anything, lucky devils. My brother is like that, one cold in the last five years. I had eleven one winter, what a bummer!

Eleven in one winter is a little extreme... I hadn't had any for years but for the past 5 or so years I've had a few a year... Hmmm maybe it's I'm getting old!!

Flu Jab is the answer

I had one for the last 2 winters and have been cold and flu free

I have mine done at Tesco's and have not felt a thing , Its great

Yes, eleven was ridiculous. I put it down to being in a busy office half the day in winter surrounded by people with various colds etc. and closed circuit air con circulating bugs around. I was unwell more or less from September to April that year. Nothing like that since I packed up working!

That's just luck as far as colds are concerned. The flu jab offers no protection against those.

Indeed. It must be remembered that genuine flu is a very different thing from a cold!! ;)

I've cut my colds right down by washing my hands after every potential risk

Reason kids have so many colds and other things is they don't was their hands

This is the time for colds as people turn on the heating. Houses are great little breeding grounds and when it warms up with no or not as much ventilation.
