Hi Everyone,
For the past god knows how many years I've been hooked on my AV set-up, but no matter how much I tinkered I've never managed to get a very satisfying stereo sound. In that time I've never had the room or the budget to run a true Hi Fi setup, until now......

I now have a room dedicated to stereo sound so have begun assembling a modest system consisting of a Sonos connect as the source, a temple audio bantam gold on amplification duties driving a pair of Kef iQ50s.
I really like the Bantam Gold, particularly the simplicity, high quality components, excellent sound and great value for money. However, the more I listen, the more I want from the system. That's what brought me to this forum. I'm now interested in improving my source by adding a DAC, in particular the Beresford Bushmaster MK2 so I will be waiting for the reviews of that to start coming in....

Hi John,
I mainly listen to Indie/Alternative but will try anything that I stumble across using my Deezer account.
I'm getting the impression that the Bantam Gold is being held back by the Sonos (using FLAC files) so am anticipating that a decent DAC will finish my setup nicely.:)

Looking at the sensativity of the speakers I would use the Bantam with the extra gain setting otherwise it will quickly run out of grunt

Hi John,
I was going to buy the Bantam without the volume pot, but John at Temple Audio told me I should use the Sonos with the volume high (to avoid the Sonos SQ from degrading as it does at low volume setting) and adjust the Bantam to suit. I'm finding that I have enough volume at the moment (when the family are in the house anyway :)) but I will try it in high gain mode. I was concerned that I may reduce the sound quality by doing this?

Hi Mark
Its probably best to have this conversation in Blank canvas. Lots of people with Bantam and maybe better able to advise
I have 96db drivers and still perfer the extra clout the gain gives me.
