Hi, I just start to build my system, i have a naim cd5i and 15ohm rogers ls3/5a , join AOS because I want to know more about glenn croft new micro 25&7, also hope someone could advice me a good amplifier for my speakers. Best wishes to all AOS friends.

You are very welcome and your English is much better than my Chinese. Please don't hesitate to post here...there are many on AOS who do not have English as a first language written or spoken, and yet contribute a lot.

I love Chinese movies only yesterday I was watching The Promise a fantasy film by Chen Kaige and a few days ago I watched and enjoyed Battle of Wills by Andy Lau. There is a quality to the visuals and use of music in Chinese films that Western movies don't/rarely ever have.

Among Chinese Audio enthusiasts (and yourself) which of your own home grown/made brands do you rate/like a lot ?

Welcome, I think you'll like it here.

As regards your search for an amplifier to match your LS3/5a's, the best match I have ever heard with these speakers is with vintage Radford valve power amps. The STA12 and STA15 are the sweetest sounding, and the mono equivalent, the MA15 adds a little finesse. However, the more commonly found STA25 is also an excellent match.

I promise you, if you hear this combination, you will not look any further - if ever two components were made for each other, it is these.

The STA & MA15's were rated at 15 wpc, but 18-20 watts is more like it in reality. I should think a Radford would work well with a Croft preamp. I have an STA15 & will never part with it - it sounds fantastic with my Audio Research preamp. If you can find one, you will be blessed with a truly wonderful sounding hi-fi.

Thank you DSDL, for truth, I recommend you never watch Chinese movie, they dedecate for money not for art. I bought DVD promise a fantasy 3 or 4years ago and just watched last month, Chen Kaige sucks, they even dont know what they shoot. movie direct by Zhang Ke Jia is good. Its shame to say that, but in my country there are rarelly good movie maker as far as I know.

......I found some one talk yaqin brand on this forum, and I never heard it before. what's kind of product you interested? most product here tend to home decoration with modern sound, only few DIY product enjoy good praise, not quite sure.

This director poor than other famous director but he real work for movie. Akira Kurosawa apperaciate this man, I like movie XiaoWu.

If the great man Akira Kurosawa likes him then he must be good I really like Akira Kurosawa's movies. I will look out for them. Not all Chinese/Asian movies get released on DVD in the UK, but if any from your list do I will have a look at them. Thank you very much.

As to Chinese audio brands I wondered if it were true that most Chinese audio enthusiasts (who can afford it) would rather buy classic UK/European or American audio than their own Chinese brands. Your answers sort of confirms what I had heard. I will have a look on the forum you have posted a link to.

Thank you D S D L, vintage hifi product is hard to find and repair, I also prefer to new unit, I used to try a domestic DIY brand valve amp, at 1000GBP range, not ideal match even not stable but easy to repair,lol~ I am a new audio enthusiast, There must be some good DIY unit, if I found some will let you know.
