These are 8 ohms, how low do these dip too?

Hi Shane,
I had a pair of these years ago, and although i cannot tell you much about their impedance characteristics,[memory not as good as it was] i can tell you that they are a relatively easy load to drive, [ i used to use them with a pair of 3 watt valve mono-blocks in my workshop] and are an absolutely great speaker for their time, in some ways i wish i still had them..
Hope this helps.

Never owned 104ab or at least heard a pair. I always pictured these as being a tad difficult to drive, don't know why??
Cheers.
I love 'em in AB form, but saying that will probably put Shane off :(

Not bothered any more, Dave. Share why you prefer the AB version? :)
The reproduction of 'intense' female voices was in a different league with the AB models, as the earlier version could be a bit rough sounding and almost screechy sometimes (bextrene drivers did get a bit rough at the top of their range and the revised crossover pays dividends here). Yep, I know the gear upstream (sources especially) and system setup is in a different league these days, so the earlier version may well be fine, but the AB is still my preferred choice. Neither model likes wobbly vinyl setups though (springy belt drive on a suspended floor for example), but the Rock would be ideal of you still use it.

So in other words, the AB version is more ''behaved'' than the standard 104 :)

Well I've heard them several times Shane and their cousins, the first Reference 104, the Calinda and the Cadenza. They do have a degree of transparency and decent detail through the mid, but that 'rubbery' ABR bottom end never sounds quite right to me and the T27 tweeter has a slight dryness to it that seems to kill any sweetness in the treble. Listen to an HF2000 in comparison and you'll hear what I mean. That said the 104 AB is still quite an entertaining listen!
