WTD: Big/Efficient/Ugly Speakers

Interested in some big/efficient speakers, sort of like Klipsch Heresys or similar style.

Must work well near rear walls, size not 'that' important.

Budget £500 at the most.

For that sort of money you could get a pair of Tannoy Devons, they should fit the bill. Best if they've had recent new surrounds though.

JBL also are generally high efficiency and very punchy.

Thanks for the replies, as I say, ideally looking for something similar to the Klipsch speakers (95dB+), ideally horns of some kind as well.

There are some well sorted Heresies going for only £350 on PFM right now. Their history is well documented on that site. I almost bought them myself last time round but someone beat me to it. I'm happy with what I have now, so I'm not chasing them, but I do think they are a good set and a bargain.
