Tried some today and was very delicious !!! Will be having this again for a good while, yum yum!

Anyone else here like this combo ?

I once asked my ex Italian wife for tomatoes on toast

I got a pause followed by a strange look followed by " how do you stop them rolling off "and yes I am being serious

Toms are fab

my favorite is , Bacon Cheese and Tomatoes in french stick :)

Cheddar cheese, plum tomatoes and Tracklements onion marmalade, grilled on toast - an awesome combo like valves and Tannoys! :D

Some of the stuff Brits eat never ceases to amaze me...!! Why not go the whole hog and try and make a pizza? :eek: :D

When I was in Tuscany this summer I had bruschetta every day 'cos it was excellent. The difference between tomatoes on toast and bruschetta is not much-some garlic, virgin olive oil and basil.
With baby plum tomatoes being cheap its bruschetta every time I fancy a snack now.

Nice one, Jerry! As long as you don't pronounce it as 'brushetta', like so many daftees on TV do, or bastardise it by putting cheese on it!! :doh::nono:

I assume you mean a tin of tomatoes on toast. If so, then yes, its one of the best, simple but oh so good. Better tomatoes makes all the difference, value range is no good, I like Napolina myself, but Tesco Organic is good to. Have to make sure you don't get chopped by mistake, that destroys the juice carrying capacity of the fruit and is a disaster. Preferably on a sliced (thick) bloomer or tiger bread. Black pepper can also work well, as can a fried egg, but just on their own is great comfort food in my book.

Just couldn't get those plum tomatoes out of my head after you mentioned them. I've just enjoyed some fresh, locally grown plum tomatoes with some local ham. I forgot how lovely they can be without all the chemicals and crap you get on the in UK supermarkets. I haven't enjoyed anything as much in ages :) yum!
