8 Ohms 4 Ohms ?

My DM110 speakers use 8 Ohms tweeters

Someone is selling a pair of DM110 tweeters and says they are 4 Ohms :scratch:

Can you mix these up ?

I would have thought you needed to stay with the correct Ohms units :scratch:

You really need to keep them to same to avoid changing crossover components. Introducing a higher impedance tweeter will affect the HF response and will affect the Q of the high pass filter typically resulting in a peakier response without crossover changes. Best bet is to stick with a 4 Ohm replacement to avoid these complications. It does depend on the tweeter sensitivity as you can sometime get away with placing an 8R resistor across the tweeter to get the correct crossover slope and tweeter output if using an 8 Ohm replacement.

If you want to play with some values, here's a link to a crossover calculator. What's as important as the sensitivity is the impedance value of the tweeter at the crossover value, not necessarily the DC resistance:
