Could I ask that people continue to use this room on a regular basis, otherwise it may be closed and removed...

Come on, you must have lots of pics of all sorts of (legal, non-pornographic) things, so let's see them, guys!! :)

Marco.

Short videos should also be considered.

Absolutely - as long as the videos have been made by our members, and they don't involve handcuffs, masks, rubber suits, and dog barking noises :eyebrows:

Mmmm... Oi loikes! :)

Just make sure it doesn't stay too 'live' in there, put some rugs in, and hang a few pictures on the wall... Funnily enough, as luck would have it, I know of an excellent supplier of cost-effective, music-orientated, contemporary-style framed prints that would theme that room very nicely ;)

Just noticed this section is for abstract art, can you see what it is yet?

Dave

Marco

Looks like fabric of some description, probably a rug :)

Seriously, though, you'll need plenty of soft furnishings (curtains for starters) in that room to stop it from sounding too 'live', especially with the rather bright balance of those (admittedly very good) Focal speakers.

Knowing Dave, Neil, that's highly likely!

It's one of those 'shape things' that, depending on how your brain works, determines what you see :)

My guess is a choirmaster in church, conducting the choir, taken with very slowwwww shutter speed, hand held after too much communion wine and forgot to fire the flash :) - yes?

Marco
15-06-2009, 23:02
How about a silhouette in triplicate of Dave C shlipping into a shilky little number whilst shimmying to Sade in his Jimmy Choos?

No, perhaps not...

Hi Marco

All in good time old boy?

When you called this area "Abstract", did you mead Abstract Art as in "Abstract art uses a visual language of form, colour and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Western art had been, from the Renaissance up to the middle of the 19th century, underpinned by the logic of perspective and an attempt to reproduce an illusion of visible reality."

Or did you mean off topic photography which isn't quite the same, or is it?

You are, after all, the art expert here!

Jeez Dave, you are asking Marco to challenge his own personal believes, and that could end up with a multi page response requiring a doctorate to decypher...

Fecking confusing innit, Matilda? :eyebrows:

No, "Abstract Gallery" comes from the "Abstract Chat' area of the forum, which was thus named to fit in artistically (in a descriptive sense) with the overall theme of the forum 'The Art of Sound'; in that, that area of the forum was thus considered "Abstract" because the discussion there had nothing to do with hi-fi...

Therefore, "Abstract" in reference to "Abstract Gallery" means an area for the posting of non-hi-fi related images. Your 'thingy', of course, qualifies in that respect.

Ya gets it now? If not, tune in next week when Daphne will reveal her secret fetish for, etc, with bendy bananas, and so on... :lolsign:

Abstract on this part of the forum is thus all written (and visual) compositions existing with a degree of independence from the main topic of this forum, i.e. hi-fi.

So there! :p

I saw this last night...after 2 pints in the Black Lion, a pint at the Hand and Trumpet and half a bottle of red at home with food.

Its a trio in a church.

There are already two pages of pic threads on here. I expect this room to have bursts of activity every now and then and that is fine by me.

This room would be better off left to let it chart its own course without turning it into a basket case.

Marco
23-06-2009, 15:39
