Hi all,

just a quick hello, came across the forum researching a DAC purchase and well it seems a very good place.

I have a rather boring job (preparing accounts etc) so music is 'one' of my escapes!

I run FLAC files from laptop to a modded AMP6 DIY Tripath Amp to some PSB T45 speakers. It sounds good to my old ears. I'm using a creative soundcard so i desperately needed a DAC. I have been enjoying the Mod your Beresford 7520 thread, so i have decided to get one of those.

Oh and it is sunny here today.

All the best. TeTsuo, Mark even.

Hi Mark

Welcome to AOS.

Glad you found us and happy you have taken a few minutes out to say hello.

What kind of music do you like ? Maybe you might like to put some photos of your set up in the Gallery section. We all like to see pictures.

Can you put your name as part of your signature....and a rough location, say Leeds UK or such like for location.

Enjoy the Forum get stuck in... :)

Hi,

updated as you advise, thanks!

I got into music as a young lad, New Order was the first major thing for me (and still is amazing). Got into rave circa 1989 and travelled the UK every weekend until 1994, when i realised i was just too old and nearly burnt out! My musical tastes just continue to mellow as i get older. The Beatles, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zep are my most listened to now. I enjoy Jazz, Sheila Jordan as an example and my Irish wife has got me into Christie Moore and The Saw Doctors etc.. Love old school Rap, Public Enemy, Run DMC and some newer stuff, Jurassic 5 etc..but still with the old school vibe. If i want to rock out it is the Libertines or White Stripes.

Recently built an Amp and it has really ignited my love again. All i do is listen, don't really read, or watch TV...just listen and enjoy.:)

Mark.

I've been battered in Upstairs Downstairs a few times (probably closed in 1998). (Not literally, but damn close)

Welcome, Mark.
Funnily enough, Garforth is the only part of Leeds I've been to - my brother-in-law lives there and his fiance works in the leisure centre.
I'm a southern shandy, myself, born and bred in Kent and now stuck in Surrey until the housing market makes a move. I'm also a former raver baby who's now more into indie and folk. Still got thousands of records from my days of trying to mix house, hardcore and jungle (really badly  ) - luckily one of my Technics is now put to better use. ;)
