Courtesy of Russ Collinson, my new Autograph cabs with my existing 15in MGs inside have arrived.

Crossovers from my GRFs are nearer than you'd think thanks to the TVC-type arrangement installed by Nick G in place of the original L-pad, but I think a little tweaking will be in order to get the balance spot on (treble is very slightly subdued even on the highest treble setting).

Still moving in really (moved house on 22nd), so it will be a week or two till I can get into measurements and so on. It's close enough for now.

They look absolutely stunning - finish is oiled cherry, black grilles. Apologies for the quality of the pics.

Main difference over the GRFs (many many similarities as you'd expect) is the utterly effortless quality of the low bass with the richness of the low level information that goes with that, yet without the artificial thumpiness of your average ported box. I know already even before tweaking the crossovers that these cabs are everything I hoped they would be and more.

Incredibly efficient, volume knob is round far less than before. Might just try out a decent SET to see what the result is.

They look nice Tom! How is the new listening room fairing?

I still have that vintage grille fabric for you, if you still want it - I'm down there on 18 Sep so could drop it off at your new gaff.

Look great, Tom. Think I may have "issues" getting speaks that big via SWMBO!

Fantastic.
Heard a grf with 15" silver a few weeks ago.Sounded very very good on the end of a mini t amp fed by an iphone.
Would love to try a pair like yours at home one day.

Till the night before the Autographs arrived the listening room was full of unpacked boxes ... be a wee while yet before everything is set up the way I'd like. I had been worried about the suspended floor but it seems to be ok especially after putting the laminate on it.

They look great Tom and I'm glad that you finally found a set for keeps. RE the SET...the only tip I would give you to avoid disappointment is to avoid any SET using zero feedback if you want things to stay nicely in control. You'd be welcome next time you're about this way to pop in and listen to my current SET amp driving the Fidelios...it's a country mile away from what you last heard, as are the speakers!
