My car insurance expires in the next couple of weeks, and I've just read my policy renewal documents.
The cheeky bastards (Aviva) are hoping that I'll do nothing and allow the policy to roll over, 'cos they're looking to charge me £901.18 for the privilege.

A quick check on the internet and I can get cover for under half that figure.

Whatever happened to honouring customer loyalty? - I've been with Aviva for a long time, and now they really have started taking the piss :steam:

Is that for a Mondeo Chris ? Avoid Admiral insurance also , bunch of chumps .

Bought a car a couple of days ago, checked online ( money saving expert) for insurance quotes, Aviva one of the most expensive, we ended up paying ( full comp) less than half of what Aviva wanted.

They all do it mate. I remember mine being due at a the same time I'd just moved house. I'd been sent a ridiculous renewal quote as usual, so went hunting giving my new address. Cheapest turned out to be through a broker but with the same company I was already with. When I rang up to take out the new cover, I was told I "Shouldn't be doing this"(!)

I then asked her if her company should be ripping people off, in my case to the tune of £400. Needless to say she didn't have an answer for that!

Yeah, I'm with Aviva. They've just quoted me £1500 for cover on my two cars and my van. They're all low rated for insurance too. So much for multi-car cover.

Insurance companies don't value loyalty, so I give them none in return. It's really best to be an insurance tart these days. My current insurers are Chaucer and they were a lot cheaper than the previous lot I was with (for a group 44 car).

Most will tempt new customers with a cheaper quote only to increase it after year one. it pays to shop around ime.

I don't drive but regarding other things i learned a very long time ago be loyal to no company.

I have a shelf full of meerkat toys. Same story for me with Royal London. Renewal premium nearly 3 times the quote I got from the meerkats. Went to Budget, who then pulled the same stunt, so another cuddly toy and move to Admiral, but I dare say I'll be moving from there. And electricity, ...

They must think we are stupid, or havent heard of the web :doh:

Well, it's just cost me a grand to insure a Suzuki Carry 1.3 van and a fifteen year old VW Golf 1.9 diesel estate. Crazy!

I'd just been offered a rather nice BMW 323i (2.5), but when I asked the insurance company (Aviva) how much it would cost to add this to my policy, they said it would be another £1100. Needless to say I'm not buying the BMW.

The really annoying thing is it only takes someone in your postcode to claim, and it puts your premium up. Robbing b*****s.
