OK folks, I've need more space on my shelves for records & you lucky, lucky people can help me out.

I picked out 50 or so LP's that I no longer want.
THERE'S ROCK, POP, JAZZ, FUSION, CLASSICAL............

The selection was for one of the following reasons:

1) I have 2 copies.
2) I bought it to see what it was like & thought it was not for me.
3) Unwanted gift (............. ungrateful git).
4) I just plain don't like it any more.

All records will be sent in good quality corrugated card mailers with stiffeners.

All records will be cleaned on a Moth RCM & given a new high quality anti-static inner sleeve.

Postage will be at cost, no more, no less (including the value of the mailers - inners are free).

Send me a PM & make me a realistic offer - I'm not trying to make a fortune, but some of these are of value - equally, some are worth very little.
Some of the classical records listed are much sought after, & for good reasons - the sound quality is great!! There are Decca Triangles, Living Presence's & Living Stereo's. Some of the mono's sound fantastic.

List & selected photos to follow.

Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Dig in.............

Cheers, Chris.

After a flick through, I discovered that I already had one of the Camel albums, the Steve Winwood, and one of the Ry Cooder albums!

That's the trouble with having lots of records - you forget what you've got sometimes, especially when you haven't played it in ages! :eyebrows:

I'm not that bothered about the other ones. Look forward to receiving the records.

had this many moons ago and wouldn't mind revisiting it; if it's stereo.

First of all, thanks a lot to those who've so generously donated to the Wazoo Land Grab - I've got room on the shelves for a few more already. Those should be on their way to you - please let me know when you all get them.

Now, to tempt some more lucky souls. I've relisted what's left below, with some very brief notes for the unititiated, along with suggested pricing.

As before, P+P is extra at cost, no more, but sometimes pennies less. All discs will be cleaned & placed in a bright shiny new anti-static inner sleeve (inside the original inner).

I'm also open to swaps as per Howard's swap shop - in particular, I'm looking for clean copies of the first Doors album & 'Let it Be' - don't know how many crap copies of those 2 I've had through my hands!!

Chris has got some fab records for here sale, folks, at very keen prices, so why not treat yourself? :)

.....

Chris

Damm! Wish I had known; I replaced most of my Doors' collection with remastered CD versions a few months ago and gave the vinyl away. Those that I have kept are American import versions of 'Waiting for the Sun' and 'Morrison Hotel'.

So, if you are not one of those who think that the CD is the spawn of the devil, might I recommend the following 24 bit 96KHz remasters from the original 2-track masters:

'The Doors', CD (1999), Elektra 7559-74007-2
'Strange Days', CD (1999), Eketra 7559-74014-2
'Waiting for the Sun', CD (1999), Elektra 7559-74024-2
'Morrison Hotel', CD (1999), Elektra 7559-75007-2
'L.A. Woman', CD (1999), Elektra 7559-75011-2.

I have neglected The Doors' 'Soft Parade', as I never thought it was particularly good.

Actually, I don't have too many replications at all, but that's just one album I really must have on vinyl - don't know why.

Thanks for the thought though.

I'm intrigued; I assume The King Crimson album is 'Court of the Crimson King', but what is the Pink Floyd album? - 'A Nice Pair'?, it's the only one I can think of that relates to 'Bristol'. Or am I way off the mark?

Please explain.

Barry,
I'll enlighten you.
When I was addressing the packaging for Nick's Heidi Berry LP, I absent-mindedly wrote 'Bristols' instead of Bristol, which of course had my wife in fits of hysteria with comments about a one track mind.

The Floyd album I was referring to is indeed 'A Nice Pair' & I had assumed the King Crimson album Nick had in mind was 'Three of a Perfect Pair'.

'In the Court of the Crimson King'??

OK, so I made the right connection with mammaries, but I'm still unclear about the reference to 'W. D. Phangs dental surgery'. I realise that it might be a pun (fangs), but the King Crimson LP cover I had in mind was the one which has the track 'Twentieth Century Schitzoid Man'. I thought it was 'Court of the Crimson King'. So, what is the connection with dental surgery? - or the cover of a Pink Floyd album?

Regards
Barry

PS I have played the records and they are in excellent condition. Thanks

Barry,
It's a long deleted early version of 'A Nice Pair'.
The cover was a montage of photos, one of which was the sign on W.R. Phang's dental surgery (mis-remembered it slightly - W.R, not W.D). There was the threat of legal action, so that version was pulled & another less contentious photo was put in it's place (or that's the version I heard). Suffice to say, those copies are worth a bit.

Hi Chris,

Just a thought (you know how my mind works with these things :eyebrows:), but since your primary focus at the moment is selling parts of your music collection that are surplus to requirements, why not temporarily revamp your signature to include only details of your contact email address and a link to the current list of music for sale?

That way, the details will appear wherever you post on the forum, and if you do it in an attractive, eye-catching, way it will focus people's attention and hopefully generate more sales.

Just a thought, matey! :)

Cor blimey, guv'nor, it's a bit dusty in here!

Another thread has led me to seek out my copy of the single 'Bags of Fun With Buster' by Johnny Japes & his Jesticles in order to allow you fine folks to have a chance of wrestling it from my fingers.

If you don't know what it is, you almost certainly won't be interested in it. It was released by Viz comic in 1987 and was recorded by XTC and John Otway. I think it also has Neville Farmer on it (who used to write for Hi-Fi Answers).

I'm open to offers on this, but I might not take you up on them! It was one of the few records that I've acquired on the off-chance that it might be worth something one day. Turns out it is worth a little more than I paid for it (just the postage from Viz back when it was released).

I'm not looking to make a fortune, but be reasonable if you're interested, eh? A PM would be the way to do it.

In the meantime................a sample of the fun & japes & merry frolics to be had:
