Are turntables sensitive to hz?

For example if i move from a 230V 50hz country to a 230 60hz country, will the turntable have the wrong speed?

Are there any turntables that can be adjusted for this that are 'good' but not too expensive....

Sorry for the crazy question, i will be moving countries and it looks confusing..

Yes, the speed will be wrong. If the TT has speed control you should be able to adjust it enough.

The turntable speed will only be wrong if it has a mains AC synchronous motor, or one powered via a simple transformer like a Naim Armageddon. Turntables with DC motors will be unaffected; also those with low voltage AC motors powered from external frequency-locked PSUs like the Project Speedbox etc. so, the answer to the question does rather depend on which turntable you have.

I see. So are there any good budget tables out there that are DC powered - that would be what i need then. I would prefer to stay around 200 to 300...

There are plenty of DC powered turntables out there, but possibly not many at your rice point. Don't overlook those with AC motors and external frequency-locked PSUs that won't care a hoot if your mains in 50Hz or 60Hz. At your budget, I would not rule out a used Technics SL-1200 which again won't care about mains frequency. Out of the box they are not exactly deft musical performers, but can be encouraged to be better by the application of money. Best of all, they will survive moving around, have a lid, and don't demand much of the user.
