WTD: Budget amp & speakers

I'm after a budget amp and set of small standmount speakers to see if I can make a small office/den based system to go with my MacBook Pro & iTunes

Amp: something along the lines of an older NAD, Arcam, Rotel or Marantz amp maybe, around 40wpc and in black (ideally with remote)

Speakers: Maybe some basic Tannoy Mercury F1's or M1's or Mission MX1's etc... Open to other suggestions too but nothing retro/vintage thanks. Ideally in black as well but will look at wood finishes etc...

Ideally looking as cheap as poss but will cover courier costs and will look at around the £100 mark, (more if necessary) but within reason :)

I have a NAD 2335pe integrated amp..has a few scratches on top but not too bad,all at back, and a pair of Mercury m1. black with wood fronts.the covers need fixing but look way better without them...small issue with the vinyl at side but not noticeable...can have them for 60£ plus postage of you choice.

Loads of Wharfedale Diamonds on fleabay. I suggest 7.1's (7.2's have a better tweeter but are rarer) and a NAD 3020a or Creek 4040 if good working ones are still available for well under a ton. Loads of other good cheap soeakers, but some are suspect, others may need work doing on them and better known 'others' not 'sleepers' any more!

Other good well made vintage amps from Rotel (the BX models), Denon (250se and 350se) and some of the better reviewed HK models from the 80's.

Alex_UK is really busy with work at present, but he could chip in with whether his Mini-T drives the Diamonds ok?

The Denon 250se shouldn't be overlooked, u may not have heard one but its a strongly recommended amp amongst many people!

Also have a boxed harmon kardon 430.
Slightly noisy volume but once turned up is fine.
Very nice condition.

Also have celestion 15 xr and castle pembrokes.

Having re-read your OP I think your best bet is to keep an eye out for either a NAD C320 or Marantz PM66.

I'm open to suggestions.

Obviously I'm googling the amps I dont know and thats why nothings took my eye yet

Certainly wouldnt want a NAD C320; the BEE is far superior but still sell for a bit more than I want to pay currently

The Mrantz is on my watch list also :)
