Not had any alcohol for 5 wks now, i have not given up, just having a booze break after the amount i drank whilst working at Glastonbury. I think i pickled myself after 6 wks of hard work and hard drinking + drinking post festival. I have a few nice bottles of the good stuff tucked away ready for when i fancy a tipple.

A bottle of 2010 Chateau Haute-Roudier, Bordeaux:

A "cheeky little wine, which amused me with its presumptiousness". No, actually it was very good, as it would seem, all the 2010s are (following on from the bumper year of 2009).

Enjoyed in the company of a lovely lady - and a smoked chicken Nicoise salad, with pesto dressing, followed by marinated rump steak in mustard, spices and oil; pan grilled and served with champ mash and red wine jus, with brocolli, carrots and fine beans.

Unfortunately, my partner declined to drink much alcohol, so it fell to yours truly to consume most of the bottle! (It's a hard task, but someone had to do it!)

Apologies for the out-of-focus shot - it wasn't me (honest!), I blame it on my camera (or, perhaps I was at fault for not selecting "macro mode" !)

Out of focus? Yes, to a degree. But a touch of the tremors too I'd guess looking at it. Bet you were on your second (or 3rd) bottle. :)

I'm with you Andre with the private drinker, I cannot abide by the rubbish some pub peeps talk about, call me a snob if you want, I'd probably agree :D

I'll take a listen to the Bread LP and see if it does the same to me.... ;)

Oh dear - that label brings back bad memories of a night on the draft bitter - my 19th birthday at Uni. Got so ratted I threw my head back laughing, knocked myself out on the high back to the coach house style benches, and woke up naked, tied with dressing gown cords , covered in shaving foam, going up and down in the lifts of one of the hall of residence tower blocks.

Very dodgy beer that! :sofa:
