Hmmmmmmmm.............well.............

.........I wasn't really thinking too hard about shifting it, but I've got an LFD MC1 that I don't use. Sold new for about £1K. There are a couple of quite small scuffs on the face. Seperate power supply. Sounds great, but takes about a week to come on song from cold.

I might think about cash or a swap but there's nothing I'm desperate to own at the moment.
You'd have to tempt me!!

Hmmm ... LFD ... valves (see thread title) ....? Sounds unlikely to me. LFD are solid state geezers! ;)

EAR or Puresound? I'm out of touch but I'm sure the former does something - unless it's via a transformer....

Tron or Noteworthy Audio's "Phonote" designed by Graham Tricker of GT fame.

An EAR 834P would probably go down well. I think Puresound only do mm stages, but I could be wrong ...?

Yes, I know Graham Tricker - I bought my Avantgarde Uno speakers from him. Lovely! :)
I also had his Nucleus pre-amp. Excellent sound, but I could never get the damn thing to stop humming. :(

The WD Phono III is well thought of from what I've read.

It uses trannies for the mc step-up doesn't it? Not that this is a real problem though IMO...

Actually, LFD and EAR with the 324 are some of the least like solid state phono stages around and well worth consideration if you can find something to fit your budget.

Alternatively, the EAR 834p is excellent and trouble free if you don't buy a mod'd s/hand one. :doh: The Puresound P10 is very good but you will need the matching t10 transformer for MC.
