An album club that I can hopefully take part in :)
My good Lady loves Anita Baker so I'll get her to hunt this album out and I'll give it a listen.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available on Grooveshark, so those who aren't Spotify members may struggle to hear this album. However, if you want to buy it, there are bargains to be had:

It's a penny on the Amazon Marketplace (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B000002H38/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1377674480&sr=8-1&keywords=Anita+Baker+-+%27Rapture%27&condition=used) or,
If you fancy something a bit more, there's one of those fantastic 5 album sets for under twelve quid (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0052034ME/ref=s9_simh_gw_p15_d0_i5?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=094GJW87S7AMYWVJ05P7&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=418445227&pf_rd_i=468294)

Eh?
I don't pay for either of the enhanced services but I still had to be registered with them to use the free version. Has it changed so anybody can use it without registration?

I don't have a Spotify account, yet I was able to listen to a few tracks.

Anita Baker's "Rapture" is not quite my cup of tea. Rich, lush and slightly overproduced, it would however make ideal listening in the car on long late night drives.

5/10 from me.

Just seen the thread and I know I will not like this, female singer, late night listening, smaltz and did some body mention funk :please:

Never the less the I shall go in without any bias :D

Worse than I expected with awful mid 80's production. This style of music is not my cup of tea anyway but don't like Anita Baker's voice. 2/10.

Wow, that is what I call an 80s album, "takes me back" as they say. Smooth is definitely the word, in fact there is absolutley nothing to hold on to! I think if you are sitting relaxing with a bourbon whilst wearing your kimono surrounded by black ash and stainless steel furniture then this could be the ticket. I voted 6, not terrible but an acquired taste.

Sorry, it's not for me at all. Smooth, over-produced and not memorable. I did try! 1/10.
