Hi,

I've just joined the forum as I am in system upgrade mode and just found this great resource.

I have just bought a Rotel ra-1520 to complement my Kef IQ5se, Squeezebox Classic and ageing Sony CD player (CDP 990, given me 25 years of solid service). I was using a Arcam AVR 280 7.1 Amp but as I listen to music most of the time I wanted to return to a stereo system only. I love the new Rotel and am now looking for a DAC as I was using the digital inputs on the Arcam for the Squeezebox and Cd Player.

Any suggestions from people on this forum for a DAC (probably under £300) would be much appreciated.

I look forward to hearing from anyone

Regards

Welcome to AoS Dave.

A lot of members here use one of Stanley Beresford's products for their DAC. I believe they fit your price range. Suggest you have a look at his web-site.

What sort of music do you enjoy?

Hi,

I am primarily a Rock music Fan, with also quite an interest in Reggae and World Music - especially all of the wonderful musicians from Mali.

I am enjoying the more exciting presentation of the Rotel after the laid back approach of the Arcam.

If you just need a single sp/dif coax input, this dac is very good IMHO-

I bought this DAC based on Ali's advice to get me through a DAC less period, very good DAC indeed. Don't base your judgment on it's price.
