HFC RCA shorting plugs... Anyone?

Hi all.

I read an interesting thread on another forum and a poster on there said he distinctively announced that these made a BIG difference in the performance of his system.

I can see the logic and that's great for him so has anyone got or tried these plugs?

l have tried lower grade shorting plugs and to my ears made no difference whatsoever.

They can make a difference - but it depends on the enviroment. If you are unfortunate to live close to an airstrip/airport, the air-landing radar system they employ, could and can, 'break through' into your audio system.

I made a whole load up when I had a Meridian 207 CD player/preamp and thought there was a tiny difference for the better, upgrading the player was a fundamental improvement IMO.

I've never heard any difference but with a poorly designed amp in an area with a huge amount of RF, they might help.

I've never spent any money buying the foo varieties, just short out the + and - inside a cheap phono plug.
