I've just realised that I joined almost a month ago now and I've not even introduced myself. So caught up in the excitement of the Beresford threads was I that I forgot myself. OK, I've been on holidays for a couple of weeks in between but I should apologise here and now and introduce myself properly.
Hello all, Rich here, in sunny Swindon. I've been an occasional visitor to the forum since around Christmas but then decided to sign up after buying my first piece of kit in a while - A Beresford 7510 - then not long after a 7520.
I've been a hi-fi geek since secondary school, have been lucky enough to work in the retail of mid-high end kit in part and full time guises in Wales over the years (and hope to again one day) and spend far too much of my spare time 'tinkering' as I like to call it. In amongst all that I get the odd evening free to actually enjoy some music and the odd pint of real ale.
The current system comprises of a Well Tempered Classic V, an Eurekon Concept MC003 phono stage, MF 3.2 Pre-power, Shahinian Arcs and now the digital source is a PC running Windows Vista (regrettable purchase, I'm sure I'll go back to XP soon) with Foobar as playback software using the ASIO drivers then coax from the soundcard into my Beresford TC-7520 with THS4032 op-amps and a discreet power supply. The plan is to upgrade the amps in time as I know that's where the bottleneck is, although using the 7520 as a pre-amp shows the MF power amp to be a rather nice piece of kit let down by the A3.2 pre - so maybe a pre-amp change to start off with.
Nice to see a forum populated by technically knowledgeable, sociable music lovers. Hydrogen Audio it is not. My greatest respect to you all.
Rich
