Looking for good quality wiring for DC power supplys for upcoming projects.

All the DC leads I've seen on ebay etc look like bellwire, dont look that clever to be honest.
Any good suggestions or alternatives from experienced DIY'ers?
Will be carrying 9V 1A.

Also the barrel connectors thats usually fitted to DC leads, any milage in getting "audiophile" quality ones?
Assuming they exist!

thanks. :)

Hi Gary, when I was looking into a similar thing (although more than just the cable) I decided that I'd use Neutrik Speakon connectors. They're rated at 30A, I liked the idea of using locking sockets, & open up choices of cable nicely. :)

Specifically for a single rail supply or dual rail with the 4 pole connectors of course...

The DC connectors do exist http://www.mains-cables-r-us.co.uk/mains-plugs/499-oyaide-dc-25g-gold-plated-dc-power-plug.html
There's a 2.1mm version as well.

Kimber TCSS twisted pair is the best that I've used, both in terms of physical quality and sound quality.

I was just gonna post up Kimber TC based wiring. I always 'TCSS', 'TCX' for wiring out..

Gary, it depends to a certain extent how much you want to spend and how much you are going to use.
For example this 30m reel of Alpha wire for £66 from Farnell (http://uk.farnell.com/alpha-wire/3081-bk005/wire-blk-10awg-105-30awg-30-5m/dp/2290791) is a good balance of price and quality: 5.3mm2 tinned copper 600v
I've used a similar but thinner wire for internal connections.

It's interesting using the filters on sites like Farnell to see what's available. Here's all the cable 12AWG or thicker ordered by voltage rating (high to low). Aye, Farnell's are great, I used to live just down the road from them, so could pop into the trade counter to pick stuff up. The biggest problem is wading through the catalogue online. Much better getting it on paper if you can.

Er... you're talking to the wrong person about that Ali. I'm a product of the digital, paperless age. When the Yellow pages delivery boy tries to deliver the phone book I chase after him and stuff it back in his satchel... :)
