Hello everyone,

I just signed up and wanted to drop by and say hi.

I’ve had a long audio journey mostly with vintage components. I started with HH Scott amps, then tried Fisher, Marantz, McIntosh, Eico, etc. As for the speakers I’ve had various Klipsch speakers and experimented with crossover, driver, horn upgrades, etc. I also had Lamhorns and Apogee Stages along the way. It’s been a tiring journey as I was not happy with the sound I was getting until now. I think that I am finally hearing the sound I've been looking for.

I am currently using a refurbished Fisher 400CX-2 preamp and a pair of DIY 2A3 PP mono amps connected to a pair of Tannoy 15” Reds in home-built corner York cabinets. My DAC is an inexpensive AUNE T1 which sound magical to me with the proper tube.

My next project is to build a pair of new crossovers for the 15” Reds. I am considering Clarity MR caps and Jantzen wax coil inductors for this project, but that’s the topic for another discussion.:)

That's all for now.

Hi Kudret,
Welcome to AoS. That's an impressive roll-call of equipment. I've been lusting after some Eico amps for quite a few decades now - never seen any here in the UK.
What sort of music do you like to listen to?

Cheers

Thanks Chris. I have a pair of Eico HF60s with HF85 and a Eico HF81 - all refurbished - that I like very much.
Among the various vintage amps I've tried Eicos are my favourites.

I mostly listen to vocal jazz.

Hi Kudret,

Could you post a full-size pic of the amps in your avatar? They look absolutely stunning.

Welcome to AOS.

Thanks everyone.

I built these about eight years ago, from MagneQuest iron. The schematic is by Jean Francois Lessard (SETH PP2A3 (http://www.magnequest.com/diy_lessard_2a3pp.htm)).
Here is one of them:
