I was told the graphite USB cable was rather special by those who had heard it and purchased as a result, with DSD material many reported a clear shift towards analogue heaven from a digital file, surely not because of the cables I hear you cry, no probably a combination of the unique sound of DSD files and people's systems. I now am told there is an even better solution about to arrive in my letterbox (or UPS's van actually) which is even more analogue sounding, the Tellurium Q Black Diamond USB cable. The first reviewer (http://www.inner-magazines.com/news/503/57/Tellurium-s-Brand-New-Black-Diamond-USB-Cable/) seems to like it, hopefully I will, not been dis-appointed by anything Geoff and Colin have put out so far (its not in my interests to sell things that get sent back all the time which luckily TQ cables don't very often).

£636 for a 1 metre length, longer lengths available to order. Quite reasonable when some charge £6500 for a USB cable. All my Black Diamond demo stocks will be arriving any day now.

Please do not post foolish comments and mickey takes in this thread.

yet to hear a TQ product that didn't make me wish I had the wherewithal to buy it.......when you compare it with the prices the analogue fans are willing to pay for a cartridge?

Think there is a good reason people are happy to pay a fair bit for a cart.

Think there is a good reason people are happy to pay a fair bit for a cart.

and for what reason would any sane person spend £600+ on a piece of wire for then? :)

answer because it makes their system sound better

a cartridge exactly the same reason, you wouldn't buy a clearaudio goldfinger just because you can then brag to your mates you have one

you buy it for the wow factor, one step closer to hearing the musicians in front of you instead of in the back garden

so the original comment about a cartridge is valid

if someone is prepared to spend £1000+ on a box to output 21V DC I am fairly certain a USB cable for £636 is considered normal for many people :) in fact it will probably be dismissed by many audiophiles for being too cheap to be able to offer them any discernible improvements

Neil, I know that your remark was tongue-in-cheek, but that stuff isn't helpful in the trade room. I would ask you to read this thread, posted as a sticky at the top of the trade section, and take note of the warning therein:

http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?13935-***-WARNING-everyone-PLEASE-READ!!!-***

As I know you, and know that you're not a troublemaker, I'll let it slide, but please be warned of the potential consequences in future of crapping on trade ads. Cheers! :)

Marco.

First user I have for this cable reports thus..................

"R/A Kimber standard copper cable and Wireworld Ultra Violet USB 5m
R/A Kimber very good cable for the price, however the Wireworld Ultra Violet offered a smoother more detailed and less aggressive sound.

TQ Black 1m
A cable with god timing a detailed bass with reasonable depth, open midrange, slightly recessed top end however its not splashy.

TQ Graphite. 1m
Over the Black this cable has better bass definition, clearer and more top end, improved dynamic range, improved presence, bigger more detailed sound with more weight and improved timing overall a musical sound.

TQ Black Diamond. 1m
Totally unforced superbly musical and natural sound that picks up delicate moments in the music. Very detailed without being over bearing, good bass depth and definition. Clean and clear treble that's open and sweet, good dynamic range. A cable that will give you hours of musical pleasure."

PS --- I will keep the B/Diamond

Mr MCRU,

Are TQ (Tellurium Q) going to make anything better than the Black Diamond? If so when will it be available?

The black diamond rage is their best cable, having heard them there is nothing better as far as I am concerned. thanks

I doubt there will be another range above and I am wondering why you are asking?
