Free,Gratis,and for nothing...speaker(s) project anyone??

I have 2 sets of speakers that have been lurking in my garage for a long time and I guess I will never get around to doing anything with them,and I think they are far too good for the skip......One pair is the large Ellipson seen in the photo(Ive got 2)....both need refoaming of drivers,but worth it for someone with the time.....the second pair are JPW....again needing a refoam,I don't know the model number,but they are a biwirable set and very heavy for their size.....collection only from London...free of charge unless someone wants to give me something for them:rolleyes: as I always could do with some nice speaker cable or interconnects...I may have the grilles for the JPW,but not sure......get in touch if you want them

I'm happy to buy the JPWs. There's no money in them but I really like the speakers and I keep buying and refurbish them. Just drop me a PM if that's ok

Edit: too far for me when I've read it. If anyone wants the JPWs reforming for the cost of just the foams, they can always post the bass units to me and I'll do them no problem. They are AP2s and not far off Snell Ks in performance, especially if you rewire the bass drivers.

Dave has first pref on the Ellipsons and I think theres someone willing to deliver them to him....Ill update later

So it seems, I've been looking for a pair of these (or ap3's) for ages!

Regarding the Elipsons, Dave has spotted in the pics that the dome mids may not be original and also the fact that there are none of the older Elipsons that look like that on the web, and as the model number has long since faded I have no idea what model they are.....
I have this morning emailed Elipson themselves and have just got a reply from designer Jullien Thaler who has asked me for a pic and he says he can identify them for me....pic now sent and awaiting his reply....we shall see.
I may reoffer them again as soon as I know more.:cool:

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news George. If I were more able bodied I would take them off your hands as a future project but considering that they may need more work to make them sing than we both anticipated it would probably be better to let them go to a member with more skills than I possess ;)

I emailed Elipson and have received a very nice reply...They are Elipson 4004....they sent me the info and even the email of someone who will refoam them for me!!

So back up for grabs guys....looks like they could be quite good if refoamed.....:cool:
