Guys,

I'm in this process of restoring a Sansui AU-719. Things are going well but I have several very dusty PCB's with 30+ years worth of crud ground into them :( So my question is, what are you top tip from cleaning dirt, grime, grease off PCB's?

Thanks

A

What have you tried?

Ive used spray carb cleaner before, works well, but it wasnt a piece of equipment i cared about so no idea if its risky or not.

Go down to Maplin and ask for a tin of PCB and flux cleaner.

Well Im stunned. I did a little searching on t'internet and the suggestion of using a "make-up" brush was offered. I asked my missus and it turns out she had a bloody drawer full of them. So, I've spent three hours today cleaning down the Sansui Au717 and have posted some pics in the relevant thread. The results are very good for a freebie.
