Boxed. £460 including shipping in UK.

This iten was bought new by the current owner, and has been recently re-tipped for the first time (by Northwest Analogue).
Fine Line stylus fitted is equivalent to the original I believe, and I can hear no significant tonal difference with the new stylus, other than the expected extra detail over the old worn one.
Only played around 10 sides since its return, but it seems to have been fully restored to health ... a nice job by Dom!
Selling reluctantly to part-fund 'next level' cartridge purchase.

Perhaps I don't know where this cart fell in the line-up; but, I'm thinking this is a crackin' deal... even before Mr. Harper laid his hands on it???

Perhaps I don't know where this cart fell in the line-up; but, I'm thinking this is a crackin' deal... even before Mr. Harper laid his hands on it???

It was the model below the top-of-the-line Temper, and was £1000 new.
As such it is the equivalent of the current Pheonix, which retails at £1800.

Bump.

Can I bump for someone else?? I don't know if it is still available; but, if it is... ...bump. :) If I already had an SUT this probably wouldn't be available anymore. ;) At that price, with Mr. H's work thrown in... hmmm... I'd take a punt.

DISCLAIMER: I don't know Peter personally; so, no benefit to me.

I've had a few enquiries, mainly asking about the re-tip and whether it affected the 'sound' of the cartridge.

Northwest Analogue didn't do any work on the cantilever, suspension or coils (which were all in good condition), only fitting another fine line stylus, which was a straight substitute for the original. Apart from the increased detail provided over the old, worn stylus, I can hear no change at all in terms of tonality or response, it being as near as I can tell, exactly like it sounded when I originally bought it new. I have always thought that Transfiguration was somewhat of a 'sweet spot' between two other Japanese cartridges, Lyra and Koetsu, providing many of the strengths of both without their 'excesses'. As I said above, this is a reluctant sale!

Another enquiry was related to phonostage matching. For solid state stages, this works well on standard 100 ohm loading. I have used it with Naim, Edwards and ATC stages with no problems. For SUTs, it worked very well with an EAR 868PL and an Ortofon ST80-SE, which both have decent gain, so should be OK with similar set-ups.

Deleted from the pics above is the receipt from Northwest Analogue, which shows a bill for £310 and work completed in May 2013.
